MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College women’s track team competed at the 2009 Wisconsin Twilight Invitational on May 8-9 held at Dan McClimon Memorial Track/Soccer Complex in Madison. Several athletes looked to improve times in what could have been their last meet of the season. Christy Heintz took full advantage with a top-10 finish in the 3,000 meter run.

Heintz, one week removed from a pair of top-3 finishes at the NAC Championships a week ago, followed it up with another outstanding performance. The junior, who led the Eagles to their best finish at a conference championship meet last week, ran to a sixth place finish in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 11:36.07. She improved her time by nearly 20 seconds since last running the event back on March 21 at the Spring Fling in Clarksville, Miss.

Corrin Koslowski pulled in a 14th place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:33.50. It was a bit slower than her second place time of 2:26.83 at the NAC Championships last week, but better things are following her first year of running collegiate track.

The Eagles’ season concludes following an exciting season of record-breaking performances. For Head Coach Bethany Brewster and the majority of her track athletes, they’ll now look ahead to the start of the 2009 cross country season which will begin in the fall.
