Edgewood College Boys Summer Basketball League Guidelines

  • Games will be two 20-minute halves with a running clock until the last minute of each half.
  • Overtimes will be 2:00 with a running clock the last minute
  • A technical foul for unsporting conduct will result in automatic ejection from the game and bench area for any player or coach. Any fan that receives a technical will be asked to leave the gym and may not be allowed back for the rest of the summer.
  • A second technical foul for unsporting conduct in any subsequent game will result in suspension from the league for the remainder of the summer for any player or coach.
  • Bonus free throws will shot at the 7th team foul of each half. A double bonus will be shot at the 10th team foul.
  • Teams should wear their own jerseys with numbers, preferably reversible.
  • Halftime will be five minutes.
  • There will be a minimum of five minutes warm-up time between games.
  • Teams will receive one full time-out and two 30-second times-out per game.
  • All games will be played on the Edgewood College main court in the air-conditioned Edgedome.
  • All officials will be certified, experienced WIAA officials.
  • Berating of officials by parents and spectators will not be tolerated and could result in a team’s forfeiture of a game or dismissal from the league. The assigning of quality WIAA officials has been one of the main reasons this league has become so popular. We are fortunate to have to these dedicated officials give their summer time to work our games.
  • There will be no make-up dates. Your team will be expected to play each night of the schedule. If a team is a no-show, they may not be invited back next summer. It’s simply not fair to the other team who is here expecting to play a game. If your team is gone to a camp, etc., then please send your JV team.
